This app does function for the most part. I primarily use it to check the charging status and perform remote starts on my Chevy Volt. Having used the app for three years I have seen the app crash and not work for weeks at a time and in one case over a month. When it works, its fine. But it feels like GM doesnt put any priority on the app. Its like they contracted out to have an app made so they could check a box that says "we have an app that can remote start your car" and then they walked away.
Apps are cheap. I just dont understand why they dont put a little more effort in to keeping it running smoothly. I also recently bought an Apple Watch. I would really like but I have absolutely zero expectation that I will ever see an Apple Watch app for my remote start (You can remote start a Tesla from a smart watch).
Come on GM, youre doing some great things with your cars and thats the hard part, a little bit more effort on the app would be quite simple.
